Oliviero Toscani OT 2007
Oliviero Toscani OT 2007 – Super Tuscan with Soul 🇮🇹🍷
What happens when a famous photographer makes wines ine the hills of Casale Marittimo ? Just outside Bolgheri, comes this bold and rebellious red from iconic photographer Oliviero Toscani — yes, the creative mind behind the legendary Benetton campaigns.
A blend of 50% Syrah, 35% Cabernet Franc, 15% Petit Verdot, grown at 350m altitude with sea breezes from the Tyrrhenian adding freshness.
This 2007 vintage shows dominant tertiary aromas of dried dark berries, plum jam, figs, leather, vanilla, sweet spice almost nutty caramel … structured, acidity is still kicking and full of character from its tannins .
The winery is organic/artisanal and low-intervention approach, led by his son Rocco Toscani, keeping the vision alive.
I enjoyed this wine decanted and by itself, showing beautiful aged complexity, available at SAQ for 44.25$
